Description:The second in the series of JFDI books which outline the struggle to bridge the digital divide in many rural areas of this green and pleasant land. This award-winning community wireless network uses cutting edge technology to deliver a competitive, affordable broadband service to South Witham and surrounding villages. This includes mesh, as well as the ADSL bonding solution that BT Wholesale have recently adopted. Once again, community networks lead the broadband way with innovation at grassroots showing the telcos how it can be done. SWBB is a community initiative and in the words of Vince Lombardi: "Individual commitment to a group effort -- that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work". And maybe if more people JFDI like SWBB have, we would all have some decent broadband... Listed in: |

A remarkable record of dedication and determination against all odds in a very competitive and at times confusing world.
There is no exaggeration, it was my roof they climbed on, the trip to the water tower was hilarious and scary but never to be forgotten. So much experience was gained in just a few months
and put into service, the customer base just grew as we had faith in the founders, Tom , Helen, Roy. This is a book to inspire and encourage community groups or individuals to have a go. You can do it. Well done Linsey
