Description:Many important topics in computer science can be taught without using computers at all. This series of activities unplugs computer science by providing off-line activities, games and puzzles that are suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds, but especially for elementary school children. The activities cover a wide range of topics, from algorithms to artificial intelligence, from binary numbers to boolean circuits, compression to cryptography. There are currently two versions of the book. The one on this page is the "Teachers' Edition" (red cover), which is aimed at people with less of a technical background. It has 12 activities, and a lot more illustrations and handouts. The "Original" version (blue cover) is aimed primarily at readers with a more technical interest. It has more activities (20 in total) but fewer illustrations. We recommend that you preview the two books to decide which is most suitable for you. Keywords:Listed in: |
