I read your poem Blood Roses and I must say, it is excellent! If I had money, I'd invest in tons of poetry on this site, unfortunately, I am unable to do that....but Jennifer, from reading one poem, I can see your talent...and am anxious to read more of your work....

Great Work! [ No Rating ] 7 Jul 2004
Blood and Roses is a beautiful piece of poetry. Jennifer's imagery and precise choice of words in this piece sing of her commitment to the art of poetry. I can't wait to read more of her work.

The stamp of a praiseworthy poem is that, it has the ability to stay with you for years to come, not simply because you were moved the first time you read it. But because it seems to work its way into your spirit, and by doing so becomes part of you. Jennifer Stires 's poetry is of that quality.

Jennifer Stires has one of the most refreshing and lyrical voices to come along in years. In an era when seemingly anyone can be a poet, Stires rises above, making her own mark. She is definitely one to watch, and her collection Tormented Angel harkens back to such singular elegiac voices as Rita Dove, Sylvia Plath, and Ezra Pound. A bravura performance!
