Description:

An independent addendum to Krause’s Standard Catalog of World Paper Money (Vol. III, 15th Ed.). The Banknote Update is a professionally designed and meticulously edited book containing information and hundreds of full-color images of brand new notes and new note varieties from over 140 countries. In short, if a new note is missing from the latest SCWPM, it's probably in The Banknote Update. If you're a collector or dealer looking for definitive information on the very latest banknote issues, The Banknote Update is a must-have addition to your reference library. Each note is listed in ascending order by denomination and includes face value in US dollars, printed date, actual date of issue, and other available information that is far more detailed than anything you'll ever find in the SCWPM. You'll learn exactly what distinguishes each new variety from previous issues, including signatories identified by name and title whenever possible.

These comments pertain to the first edition as I have not yet seen the newest edition. For the most part I agree with Art Matz on the need for, and the work that went into this book. Krause needs a better quality control system considering all the errors from edition to edition. Maybe they should use Lulu, too!
My only comments on Owen's book are that much of the text reads like a PR release from the note issuer; and secondly there should be a double spacing between entries which, I think, would make it a bit easier to read.

If one picture is worth a thousand words then this book which has 660 pictures is worth a thousand words for each one and all would be superlatives. It is a feast for the eye in every way.
A wonderful contribution to the hobby and for anyone who enjoys helpful and interesting information and beautiful pictures. Everyone who has an interest in world paper money must have this book. It will make collecting and learning about paper money all the more enjoyable and worthwhile. Having this as guide will pay for itself many times over for the help it provides in learning about the notes - the information provides a very convenient guide for knowing what to look for.
Owen has made an invaluable contribution to the knowledge we need to make this hobby educational, and in a very enjoyable way with all the illustration to savor.
Everyone who wants to learn more and enjoys doing it with a beauiful book as a guide will be well advised to add this to their library. In book form or as a download it is a must have.
