This book is incomplete. It is available free at dmaa.pdf. The completed book will have new cover art and a new title; this is just here for test printing.
In quantum mechanics text books, the density matrix is almost universally treated as a useful mathematical device derived from the state vector. In this book, we reverse the situation and treat the density matrix as fundamental and the state vector as a mathematical convenience. The mathematical technique is mostly Feynman diagrams for qubit quantum states written in Clifford algebra. The text is intended for physics graduate students who are studying elementary particles.
Written using the scientific standard LaTeX mathematical typesetting in the "memoir class", the book includes marginal notes, and when complete will have an index with notation and homework problems. Source code for the book is at dmaa.tex
