Description:

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu. ©TX 849-444 John Blake (Bowman) has decided to take a vacation from the rigors of exploring unknown space and tracing down ancient civilizations. His Ship dumps him at a boarding house on the world of Hannibal where he meets a young widow, Vicky Malone. What she and the computer, ONE, get into is enough for a complete book. They explore old earth and the empire, digging up John's past which upsets him. ONE tells her of John's past wars and introduces her to the slave society of New Rome. She meets the hives and rides the Big Ships to the delight of the Insectoids and Hippoids.

Wow is all I can say. Vicky's romance with John was the most heart touching saga I can remember. The nurse was very touching. I'm not sure I understand how the couputer being One was supposed to work but I just let her be one of the characters in the story and enjoyed all the things she and Vicky did.

Wow -- What a computer! The first book was great but it more or less set the stage for this one. I wonder what comes next. Will read WAR IS HELL and let you know. The Bowman is one lucky guy a computer like that and Vicky too. Gee, how lucky can a guy get.

That was some love story with a good space saga mixed in. The idea of three species was good. The insects and human mixture was great. Loved the little nurse Pepper. Got your e mail and will contact direct. You have some imagination.
