In "some life", a woman is seen from unexpected angles in this meditation on identity. Awarded Best of the 2004 San Francisco Fringe Festival. An arm embroidered with scars. Seven suicide attempts. From Arkansas to Paris to Amsterdam, from a Hungarian terrorist cell to a Milanese psych ward, "This Lily Was (Fontana)" examines the life of a cutter. Awarded Best of the 2006 San Francisco Fringe Festival. "What good is being female, unless you can wield it like a sword?" Inspired by the dreamscape collages of Joseph Cornell, the surreal whimsy of George Herriman's seminal cartoon "Krazy Kat", and the boxer Sonny Liston's powerful punch, "Along the Path of Larks and Swallows", is a poetic, magical, and darkly comic exploration of love.
