Description:

A riveting personal account of a girl born to be the leader of a family riddled with poverty and abuse while forced to be the keeper of shocking secrets. Beautifully written with poetry, prose and the raw emotion of a woman who never had the chance to be a child. Honest, raw and electrically charged. Rose Colored Glasses is featured in an amazing documentary, Breaking the Silence, set to be released early 2009.

My friend sent me her copy of the book and said I had to read it. Wow! I really loved the way she made each chapter a separate story that tied her whole amazing story together. I was totally shocked by her story-telling. It was brilliant in its simplicity but wonderfully poetic and intricate. Bravo, Lisa Mae!
