Very well written! authors have good, clear style [ No Rating ] 19 Dec 2007

I'm happy to say I know almost all of the content in the book already, but I'm still very happy I bought it. What really jumped out at me is how well written the explanations are. There are so many book out there that get quite pompous and long-winded with their explanations of polymorphism, for instance. But the authors have summarize what polymorphism does in one short, clear sentence early on in the book. Most of the other explanations are similar, they really "cut through the crap" and provide the most direct answer possible. I recommend this book as a refresher for any Java professional--inevitably, we all get tied up in the peculiar details of whatever projects we're working on, and it's easy to get rusty on the foundational JEE knowledge over time. Get the book and review it at your leisure maybe once a year, as a tune-up for your knowledge base. By the way, if the authors ever tire of coding, I think they will do very well as authors of other books or as trainers. Well done!

Having gone through the book, I have to say that I am really impressed with the book as a whole. It covers key concepts, stating the basics and fundamentals clearly. Its well updated including EJB 3.0, popular frameworks such as Hibernate, Struts and touching upon latest versions of JDK as well whereever needed. The book is well organised and covers all typical questions of a Java/J2EE interview. Most of the time we do know the questions and the standard answers, but a person reading this book would be able to express a clear answer which would make the person taking the interview believe that the candidate is a clearly above the mark. This book should be equally useful to interview takers as it is to job applicants.
Concise, to the point and delivers

This is a very well written book, and very intense, not only for interviews but also for a quick reference. The author describes all the key features quite succinctly. I have not seen a book of this nature in my experience previously and have thus enjoyed reading it multiple times.

Nice work - I like the way the book is set out and it should be useful for more than just interviews - quite a handy reference too.
