This is your dad. About time I told you what I thought of it. Mmmmmm ... OK. Yup. It will do. By the way. Back from the wedding. Like the lullbabies a lot. Your sister sends her love.
This book is compulsive reading - I finished it in two sittings. Well, in two bathtimes. It has a refreshing and original mixture of evilly comic scenes, twisted rom-com, weird (and, frankly, nuts) end-of-the-world stuff that really ought to be filmed by that bloke off Monty Python, some great dialogue from believable characters that make you want to alternately hug them and slap them in the teeth with a salmon and an ending that makes you go "Whaaaat?!?!"
I am not a fantasy or doomsday book fan, but this first chapter is very promising and gripping. Suspect bit of an Electra complex going on in young Maddy. Just slightly in the tradition of Ben Elton, with a rabid tinge.

This is my new lunchtime read at work - it's made a cracking start and I look forward to reading it through. Well done the writer!
I am totally fascinated with this book, or what I have read of it. Though if the preview looks like the published product, I would suggest some more editing, such as indenting the paragraphs.
But, the story is fascinating and I look forward to reading the entire book. Good job on winning Nanawrimo!
