Description:

Tiffany will always remember her tenth birthday, when her mother placed a heart-shaped golden locket around her neck for a birthday present. Her mother reminded her, “No matter how old you become, you will always be my little girl.” After hearing the tragic news of a commuter plane crash in the Hawaiian Islands, Tiffany knew her mother would never return home. However, she confided in her Aunt Becky that one day she would travel to Hawaii to discover what really happened there. Will her dreams come true when she meets her new nextdoor neighbor Jason? Jason and Tiffany spend hours making detailed plans until they are finally ready to venture off to Hawaii…and their plan goes perfectly until the school counselor calls Aunt Becky to discuss Tiffany’s unusual absence from school. But will Tiffany’s new found information about her mother keep her and Jason out of the trouble they are certain awaits them back home?

I can honestly say I got shivers only from reading the description of this book, which were only magnified once I read the content in the preview. What a touching and interesting story for children. I would definitely buy this book for my nine-year-old. The writing style is clear, accessible and the story immediately draws you in. I am pleasantly surprised and impressed.

Great job on this book!

Michelle's compelling story line and easy writing style make for most enjoyable reading. The plot-line in "The Golden Locket" make it difficult to put the book down until the final word of the final sentence.

"The Golden Locket" intoxicates the reader with detail and feeling. Teens reading the book will understand Tiffany. Adults reading the book may very easily find themselves back in time, engaging in a feeling of nostalgia for when they too were teens.
