Description:

The Beauty of June is an engaging novel that takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride full of secrets and lies. June is a troubled teenager with a horrifying secret. She religiously writes in her journal, if only so she can keep up with her memories. As the years pass, she realizes the one thing that changed her life forever has been forgotten. June's world is filled with a driving force to remember a truth and face her demons. Compellingly written, Jaime Lozada writes in the voice of June, menacingly dark and funny, an epic tale of a young girl turn woman who realizes she's the keeper of the truth and the person who can end a life full of nightmares and live the life she deserves.

I think Jaime has a wonderful style to her writing. You can both feel FOR and WITH June. I think we've all felt as June has at some point in school-like you don't fit in. But Jaime describes those experiences in such a humorous way. I was like many of the other readers, very surprised at the ending. I just didn't expect that twist-I HAD to read this book in one sitting just to see the outcome. It definitely had my interest the whole time.

Great job, Jaime. I look forward to reading your next book!
Extremely compelling

From the beginning I could not put this book down. It is well written and riveting. June could be a person you knew growing up or a family member. Jaime did a great job, first book or not. I am recommending it to my sister and book group as a great read and a great discussion starter.
"The Beauty Of June" is a real beauty! [ No Rating ] 19 Dec 2005
I absolutely loved this book. I just finished reading it, and it was a total page turner from the start. The twist at the end was unexpected, but worked perfectly with the story.
For this to be Jaime's first book, I think it's awesome!
I highly recommend it!

This book was completely amazing! I sat and read the entire thing in one sitting. I was completely surprised at the ending and can't stop thinking about the book. I find myself recommending this book to EVERYONE I know, both online and in real life. I can't wait to read Jaime's next book.

The shocking part for me, (besides the ending!) is that this is your first book. You are beyond talented. Do your research and get this book promoted out! The story and its characters are going to be with me for a long time.

This book had me guessing until the end. A real page turner... To quote another reviewer, "If you put this book down before it is finished, it is possible your heart stopped beating." You will be talking about this book at the watercooler.
