Description:

Biography of John Smith, the fifth patriarch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was the uncle of the prophet Joseph Smith. Being called to lead the saints at Adam-Ondi-Ahman, John witnessed as mobs and government officials destroyed the saints' homes, stole their property, and issued an act of total extermination. Following the blissful years in Nauvoo, John traveled to the Salt Lake Valley as the saints were again drivin from their homes. After leading the saints in Salt Lake City during Brigham Young's return trip to Council Bluffs, John was called to be the patriarch over the entire church.
