My first reaction on reading the manuscript of this book, was amazement at the amount of research that Mr du Toit had conducted, and in writing the result of that research, had produced a piece of work that did not read like an academic tome. Even though it is obvious that he is disdainful of the work under discussion, he has empathy with people who have fallen under its spell and offers them his experience of breaking loose from the spell, and ways in which to cope with life without religion.

His research stretches from the history of the Bible to scientific explanations of why the stories are not only improbable but impossible and yet people continue to believe in the stories because of 'blind faith'. I would recommend this book to anyone who is questioning their 'blind faith' or anyone who is considering joining a fundamentalist religion that will drag them into the web of 'blind faith'.

I am honoured to have been able to help him with the book and I wish him continued success with his writing career.
