When he's accused of burning down the town saloon, he builds a coalition of his brother, Nate, Jed - a young, fast gunman, and Molly - a brazen, tough female and three runaway slaves. He proceeds to free the slaves on Wade's Plantation, a cruel, tyrannical, arrogant man who no one respects. After he blows up the plantation and the smoke from the bullets settle, he takes his people to a journey north fighting off posses, and with the aid of the Indians destroys the Army to cross Lake Erie to freedom using rafts and marries a beautiful black female who falls in love with him.
