Charles Roland Berry: "Daily Life" is a collection of poetry and prose, written over a period of twenty years. The subjects are as varied as life itself, from love poems to political tirades, thoughts on religion and horses, and even an ode to his cat. There are several pieces about composing music and artistic creation in general. Surrounding the writings are manuscript images from ancient cultures, including Christian, Islam, Hindu, and Buddhist art, and scroll paintings from China and Japan. The last portion of the book contains Charles Berry's original music score for piano and string quartet, "Absinthe Preludes."
