"While You're Gone" is a song about being away from a lover. Written as a wedding gift for a friend, I incorporated my own understanding of what my mother went through being a Navy wife to vocalize what she would soon feel as her new husband went off to join the Army. Though this is not a politcal piece of any nature, it does call to attention my own life experience. This is a love song written for all those who know distance can be hard.
