Description:

The saga continues as Christine and Ryan continue to develop their relationship, sharing intimacies and special moments like love-struck teenagers. Things take a more serious turn when an invitation to an elite Christmas charity ball halts their happiness, Christine now worried that her and Ryan's contrasting social status will be painfully recognized at the gala. Even worse, an old flame is at the Ball, with quite a few surprises that will force Christine to rethink the reasons why she should stay in Ryan's life. To complicate matters more, Edward is developing a crush on Christine, and she also discovers that Ryan's old flame is actually a witch, intending on removing Christine from Ryan's life permanently. PLEASE NOTE this is a free excerpt from the novella.

Wow...where to start, lol. First, the 'return' of Ryan Price from his fatal battle wounds from the last book was...creepy and gross, lol. And I LOVED the love scene between Ryan and Christine...VERY romantic, and quite interesting how they made the earth 'move', lol! I was definitely rooting for Christine at the Christmas ball!!!...reminds me so much of how shallow and small-minded people in so-called 'civilized' society can STILL be...
The ending was a shocker, and I'm feeling really bad for Edward right about now! Tension, tension, and MORE tension!! so excuse me while I grab the next installemnt to read!!! :o)
a very entertaining story....

After reading the first book, "Abraxas:The Beginning", the plot definitely thickens in this installment. I love the chemistry between Ryan and Christine. It's steamy yet playful, tense at times, and at other times, perfectly romantic. We get to learn a lot more about each of them, as well as Kiera and Edward, who, although quiet sometimes, expresses a fun-loving, typical 'college boy' personality. "Definitions" touches on the topic of the continued intolerance of the mixing of cultures and classes among upper-crust society (although you can see it anywhere in all walks of life) and blatantly shows itself at a snobbish social charity ball that Ryan has been invited to. Christine, however executes her revenge on her 'attackers' with a calm, cool poise, even verbally putting a woman in her place when she attempts to insult Christine's intelligence. Things hit really hard near the end when a mysterious woman named Natasha confronts Christine in the ladies room and convinces her that she and Ryan conceived a child who's now eight years old. This shock causes a sudden shift in Christine;s powers making her vulnerable to Abraxas' dark side and she leaves the ball in haste, things between her and Ryan unresolved. Poignant, thrilling and intriguing, I admire the bravery Ms. Santiago takes in touching on the weaknesses and uselessness of prejudiced ways among people today. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next installment!
