I "read" Lotito's photobook first, "The City of Sunken Dreams" and loved it for its vivid and moving photos of the city I've called home for almosts 2 decades now, but it was also a refreshing perspective to read The Heart of a Hurricane. To me, it seems like this book, which came first, is really the narrative to the photobook. I highly recommend both and keep a copy of the photobook on my coffee table, if you're looking for insight into the Katrina experience though, this book really is the companion text.

This is very good. It's just as I remember it. Great job. I was there for the last two weeks of Sept. I wish I could write. Keep up the great work.
