I've never heard an album like this one before. I gave it six stars for originality, even though it's probably a four or five overall. If you like grunge, listen to Last Dance. If you like world music, listen to A Minor Song. If you like Americana, listen to Thinking About You. If you like mellow indie rock, listen to The Stars Will Shine. It's obvious why this album was self-released. It'd be a nightmare for a record company marketing department to promote!

Not all the tracks are great, but those are some of the best ones. A Minor Song is a Spanish-flavored instrumental with some of the best guitar playing I've heard in a long time. Last Dance reminds me of Nirvana and Alice in Chains, but the solo on it blew me away. I can't tell if it's a masterful use of guitar feedback or not even a guitar, but it sounds awesome!

If you have diverse musical tastes, you've got to buy this album. If not, you may want to just download the songs you like if they become available. If this band wants to make it, they really have to choose one style of music. This much variety will confuse and turn off mainstream music buyers. But I love it! The bottom line is, if you like the music programming of KEXP (www.kexp.org) in Seattle, you'll like this album.
