The Novogodney Field was discovered in 1976, and lies about 75 kilometers to the east from Noyabrsk City in Jamalo-Nenetsky autonomous okrug of Tuymen region in the West Siberia. The field belongs to the Vingapiakutinskaya oil province. It is located between two mature fields, Vingoyakhinskoye and Vingapurovskoye. Surface infrastructure is well develpoed in this area. The terrain is flat with small rivers, lakes and low lands.
