Multiple layers of guitars and biting lyrics paint a somber picture of the desire for separation from the one you used to love. The Johnny Cash meets R.E.M. comparison is indeed apropos, but the style is unique and I believe the band may have found its sound. I'd say this song is a major leap beyond anything on In Distant Lands. Which I hope means Machine Gun Theory will be Sleep and The Traveller's major label debut.
