The Same Sun is a collection of related narratives that allows the observer to watch as one man, banished to the end of the earth with his terrible secret, starts to discover another world. Then, with the Island’s gentle guidance, he slowly begins the long journey back towards the light, after bouncing along the bottom several times. Told with wit and humour, The Same Sun traces this journey as it unfolds across the Island’s backdrop, populated by Sam’s people, the brown skinned invaders from the republic far to the east, the occasional expatriate, two reclusive Japanese soldiers, and a host of other colourful characters.
