Borderlines Vo 2 is an exciting project bringing the undergrad and post-grad writing programmes together at the University of Portsmouth as well as contributors to the on-line journal Hackwriters.com. The writers come from all over the world and span a huge range of interests. The fiction is fun and some experimental, the poetry reflects the importance words have on the writing programme. The travel writing is by students and others who have been there and some, like Aby Davis's 'Iceland' really capture the fun of two girls bunking off and heading overseas to have adventures in foreign lands.
Altogether a really interesting mix of new work and a decent showcase for the writing and publishing courses in this corner of England. Worth buying and good value. Pass it on.

It is often difficult for new writers to become published in any way, shape or form. That is why such a thing as the Borderlines Creative Anthology is so important.
This anthology is a showcase of new work from young, and not so young, writers who are, primarily, situated along the South Coast of England.
The layout of the book makes it easy to read as well as there being a wide range of different types of writing to engage with.
This is not like many anthologies that specialise in giving new writers a published voice in that it is actually rather good. Often these sorts of anthologies are, lets face it, amateur. And while there is the odd bit of duff writing in here, some of it is really very good. And one can't help but think that a couple of these writers that are showcased here will go on to become worthy literary figures of the future.
