Brewed Awakenings - an unexpected third read [ No Rating ] 15 Sep 2007
"Bless me father for I have reviewed again, and in my nightgown, well, nightshirt." Hi, there I was going through the backlog of 50 books to read, and it fell into my hands, it's warm brown look, and I was on my second cup of coffee, and what can I say: the where were you on 9/11, the intergalactic adventures, the soft poetry and then unexpected Haiku, all representing wonderful writers. Was there a piece I liked more than others? I can't say, I'm still checking, like a kid at an ice cream stand, so many flavors. Aah, another morning, deliciously sidetracked by reading. Hooray!
Brewed Awakenings [ No Rating ] 10 Apr 2006 (updated 10 Apr 2006)
My first read as an inhale, like snort down a chocolate wart hog type of read; my second read went thru the intro, articulate and subtle humor; from the first teaser of a piece, book ended by adventures from outer space which was a snort, snuff, roll on the floor, to the innards of this Anthology words came to me, "evocative, profound, paradox rendered pure; given a silent toe hold into the unexplainable universe, unique twist of pen and writer; warm, simple giving, good writing, tight, to the point, funny, seamless, and leaves me, the reader, wanting more. I've ordered the book. It had me on the title and back cover.
