Bennett Myers, 'Old Men With Bongos', Steven Reeves, Mark Smith, Peter Solet, Larry Sorkin, Dana Staats, Fred Stephens, Don Sylvester, Paul Tierney, and Ron Wolfe. This anthology is a 100% volunteer-driven project, with 100% of the profits benefiting the Triangle Men's Center, serving the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area in North Carolina since 1986.

Men Of Their Word [ No Rating ] 30 Jan 2007
I liked the book for its relevancy to didactic existentialism, but rejected its tertiary approach to primordial skepticism. On the whole, a worthy tome, insightful and yet grandiose - phlegmatic, and yet post-prandial.

"Men of Their Word" could be called "Men With Hearts and Souls". These fellows allow you to enter their lives through open doors which is rarely seen of men in our society. They are fathers, sons, husbands, but more importantly, they are risk takers. Take a risk and read what they have to say.

As an attendee of the Spring Gathering where these poems were gathered I have wonderful memories of these poems. So many of these poems speak to issues that men struggle with - depression, fathers, being a father, being a husband, relationships. There is so much raw emotion in these words. As these men worked to improve their lives they touched a source of creativity that is a gift for all of us to enjoy.
