I laughed, I cried (well, all most. Your revelation in Thailand was very moving. Its all to often we forget to let down our guard and see the beauty in humanity. Thank you for the reminder!!!). It was inspiring, educational and way to short. I'm looking forward to part II.

Pat and Ali are like the coolest couple you could ever hope to meet!


I've followed their adventures for over a year now on their website, and enjoyed reading them again in the book. I think I love their easy going and carefree attitude the most, but their love for one another and enjoyment of life is quite evident and puts a smile on your face every time. They live life like most of us SHOULD be living, they are exceptional authors, and their adventures never fail to satisfy.

I first ran into Pat and Ali's Bumfuzzle when I was researching the process of sailing around the world. Their tales are everything I was looking for - told and experienced in the first person - and a joy to read. Just the photos are a book in themselves. The tales of a young couple just doing it - are wonderfully motivating.

Pat and Ali have written a book that reflects their way of life. They want to see the world and experience what they see. The book is a must read for anyone that wants to know what goes on outside of their own life. I've traveled the world taking public transportation and staying in cheap hotels. I can't wait to get each new installment on their website. The book is one I can keep as a rememberence of their adventures. I can't wait for the next volume to be published: Bumfuzzle the Bus!



Buy the book to give to anyone that wants to experience life. Pat and Ali are the nicest couple and you want them to come to where you live so you can show them around. I love reading about places I have visited and can not wait to see what their options are. They are 20 years younger than I am but they have the same attitude for life I had at their age (and still do).

Patrick and Ali Schulte's attitude to sailing and the cruising lifestyle is the ONLY reason I allowed my husband to embark on a 5 year plan to build our own catamaran. Our project isn't finished, but Bumfuzzle's adventure has kept us motivated to launch our boat and fulfil our own goals of living on a boat and seeing the World.
I have followed Bumfuzzle via their website and read their book and I can honestly say without them I wouldn't be planning to follow in their wake. I'm from the other side of the World to Pat and Ali, but the style of writing made me realise how small that World has become.
It is truly a pleasure to read about sailing from a young perspective. I don't plan on having a bearded husband, nor am I going to sell sea shell knick knacks from the back of my boat. Finally there is a book available that shows you can eat snack food, run a website and enjoy life and The World all from the comfort of your own floating hotel room.
Pat and Ali are the modern day Christopher Columbus or Captain James Cook - it takes a gutsy couple to defy the knockers. A great read that is entertaining and with just enough tongue-in-cheek to appeal to my cynical view of those who must judge to hide their jealousy.
