In the movie "Planet Of the Apes" modern day humans find themselves in a world dominated by intelligent simians who have taken over the Earth of the future. The human's main question was "how did this happen?" I am sure an average person from the Nile Valley of the Bronze Age would ask the same about today’s world. "How did these Europeans take over and why do they portray us (ancient Egypt/Kemit) as non-black?" They would ask this because they lived what an honest look at the iconography, statues, language and cultural traits of the ancient dwellers along the Nile should tell all of us: Their cultures were begun and dominated by black Africans! They were mentioned as being black by contemporaries in various histories. They said in their own writings that they came from and derived culture from lands where black people lived.(Like Gebel Barkal!) But somehow all of this got twisted due to the dawn of western archeology blending with racist, slave holding anti-black propaganda (which is still pervasive today). Planet of the Greeks dashes these racist interpretations to the ground, radically overturning long held beliefs about who did what and when. Mr. Weche does this by using basic journalistic analysis that seems to escape the so-called experts. One of these is checking several interpretations to find the most likely answer to a puzzling question, then being honest enough to report the most likely answer despite how unorthodox is seems. By doing this the author reveals mainstream historians to be crippled by weaknesses built into their profession, especially institutional racism and arrogantly not taking the words of ancient writers seriously. Example: If there are reports from all over the world, at roughly the same time, which speak of a world catastrophe, then maybe these reports bear taking seriously! Mr. Weche also plows into territory usually ignored by mainstream historians called "anomalies." These are scientifically provable finds that don't fit in with their (mainstream historians) outlook that are ignored and left out of books because they shake up commonly held beliefs. The real elephant in the room that mainstream historians pretend is not there is the White Supremacy masked as scholarly expertise built into their professions! This is why I think that independent journalists like Weche, beholden to no historical clan or institution, are a must for the study of ancient history, especially the history of Africa. At over 800 pages, the book is a heavy read, but anyone truly interested in the history of the Nile Valley, and thus the world's history, should read this work. I don't agree with everything in Planet of the Greeks, and a few things need to be clarified like the Bronze Age “Ethiopian-Ptolemy” concept, but I think this is the most important book on Nile Valley civilization of this generation! Mr. Weche I salute you!
