As one who has sought without luck the Lone Ranger pulp magazines for years, I was delighted with the reproduction of the first issue of the magazine - "The Phantom Rider". It even has the advantage over the magazine in that the paper on which it is printed probably will last longer. The Lone Ranger is such an important part of Americana that all of the issues of the magazine should be reprinted. After all, a large percentage of the radio programs, the two Lone Ranger movies, and, in so-so condition, the two Lone Ranger serials, all, are available, so why not make the other editions of the magazine available? Here's hoping that the publisher of the current reprint soon will do so.
A great reprint of the first Lone Ranger Magazine pulp, this story by the ever prolific Fran Stiker was the forerunner of the hardcover book "The Lone Ranger & the Mystery Ranch". The story deals with the masked man's fight against outlaw group the Night Legion, with the aid of his companion Tonto. The book is true to the contents in it's entirety of the original pulp, with all the illustrations and even the ad to join the Lone Ranger Magazine club! For those who don't have the original pulp (which is a highly sought after collectible)or even those that do, this is a great way to be introduced to or
