It can be pretty overwhelming for parents who make the decision to homeschool. Choosing a homeschooling style, a curriculum, how to organize the day - all of these choices. Michelle's book makes the process of "finding your way" so much easier because it addresses the personalities and expectations of the people involved.
I wish I had read this book when I first started with my oldest child, but am glad it's available now as a resource. Reading it helped me understand why homeschooling is so important to me.

A terrific guidebook for parents and homeschoolers, this book addresses difficult topics that come up in families, particularly homeschooling families. Each topic begins with empathetic words of positive reinforcement for the parent. Barone then provides resources for the reader to do further research on each topic, and a full page of questions to help readers explore their issues in order to build stronger connections with themselves and family.
My first read, I answered many questions in my head, but knew that this was a book to read over & over. I look forward to journaling more on topics as they pertain to events in my life. Luckily, it's very compact and will easily fit in a purse or carry bag.
