Description:

Jerry Hansen is made an offer he'd be foolish to refuse: Don Vincent Scarelli offers him a cool one million dollars if Jerry will rescue his niece, Gina, from Kozmo, a sadistic and psychopathic crime boss who runs part of The Combat Zone, Boston's infamous adult entertainment district. Jerry infiltrates Kozmo's operation, but when he is betrayed by someone with knowledge of his mission, he must decide if, and how, he will get Gina away from Kozmo. "Combat Zone" shows the dark, violent underworld of strip clubs, prostitution, and life in a big city's red light district.

Combat Zone by John S. Hardin [ No Rating ] 4 Sep 2006
The first few pages of ‘Combat Zone’ are bloody and violent, depicting some of the worst human violence. I had just begun to wonder about what I had gotten myself into when the story began to level out and a plot formed.

A young woman falls under the hypnotic and deceptive allure of a psychopathic, charismatic crime boss in Boston. Soon he has her working as a stripper among other things. Her uncle, the Don Vincent Scarelli, offers Jerry Hansen a million dollars if he will rescue the once innocent Gina from this cesspool she’s got herself into.

Hansen has a plan and government training so that everything seems easy and for while things go like clockwork. He infiltrates the organization and gains the trust of all the players. But when Jerry is betrayed by an unlikely source, his vengeance is the stuff that legends are made of.

If you are looking for a book that is full of twists, turns and surprises right until the end, then ‘Combat Zone’ is the one you should be reading. I found it isn’t one that can just be flipped through; it has to be read carefully in order not to miss anything. And just when you think that everything is over with, Hardin has yet another trick up his sleeve for you. I highly recommend this book.
