Description:

My laptop computer was stolen from the trunk of my automobile a couple of years ago. I wrote about it at the time at http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2006/11/i_wuz_robbed.html. I filed a stolen property report with the police, but I never did get the laptop back. Shortly after obtaining a replacement laptop, I installed a commercial program that was billed as a sort of "LoJack for Laptops." I was never too impressed with the $40 program. I later discovered a free solution. Even better, there is no annual fee or any other fees for tracking services. This program is available for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux laptops.
