We stood at the gates to the Magic Kingdom WDW with our chin's on the ground, our first experience of Disney magic outside of books or movies had a profound effect on my family and I.

As the years have passed and our love affair with all things Disney has grown, the questions and curiosity about the 'unseen' depths of the imagineers cupboard, etc. has increased.

Many a time have we said things like, "They should build" or "I wonder if"?

Those questions amongst many others have been answered, curiosities and rumours have been met with fact, The Disneylands That Never Were has it all and more.

An obviously well researched and planned book, written by a man who's passion for Disney shines through with every fascinating page.

Interesting and informative, factual but fun, Shaun takes you on a journey through the vast land of ideas and plan's, past, present and future.

From start to finish an excellent Read. Their are lots of facts about the various Disney parks (as well as Walt himself) that I never knew and found very interesting. It is nice to know that Disney are always trying to go bigger and better and it's a real shame about some of the idea's that didn't make the cut as I would have really liked to have seen them built. This book highlights the various problems that Walt Disney and his team have had during the design and building of all of their parks and bring to light the numerous ideas that have never been given the go ahead for one reason or another. Shame their were no pictures to go with the text, but as the author says in the book a lot of these designs may not be currently being used at the moment but potentially could be used in the future so can understand why they were not included. Brought back lots of good memories from my last visit to the Florida park and made we want to go again!
