In the melting pot tradition of the USA, these mittens are a hybrid. The checkerboard of the hand is popular in Maine, the braided edging is from Latvia, and the small geometric patterning of the cuff is from Scandinavia. The modified flat decreased top is from me, in Center Ossipee Village, NH.
