How many times have you visited the Walt Disney World Resort and asked where a certain attraction was located? Where the nearest restrooms were located? When the next parade was going to begin? One of the most popular vacation destinations in the world provides many visitors each year with memories that will last a lifetime. Many of these memories are created by CPers. To all who do not utilize Disney Speak, CPers are better known as College Program Cast Members. Each year, young students arrive with only their luggage in hand to start a thrilling adventure. They come to work for the Mouse. Filled with commentary from Disney College Program alumni and Disney cast members, this book contains the very personal stories about an internship program unlike any other. 14 Aug 2006 (updated 14 Aug 2006)
--The following Review is from Amazon.com-- My daughter is being held hostage in "Mouscatraz" as I type, For those wondering what this means, she is a summer 2006 "CP" ( College Program Student from England )
The book duly arrived and so I rang my daughter to tell her, she was very excited as she had heard rumours about the book and over subsequant phone calls to the US, I read extracts, which she then relayed to her Vista Way friends and room-mates, squeels of laughter, comments and jibes came back over the airways.. They loved it!

I began reading for myself and at times was laughing hard, other times a wry grin was on my face, you see I too had been to Vista Way to visit my daughter and can say in honest truth that you couldnt make up the comments written in the book.

I had watched her at work and had a greater insight into the great and not so great "unwashed" that visit Disney each day.

I would with no hesitation commend this book to any student world wide that has thoughts and dreams of the Disney Magic...
I would also recommend it to their parents, because believe me its better to know than not know!

When your student child comes home and tells you that they have been to a Disney presentation at their University about joining for the summer or longer they will come back with a huge amount of Pixie dust in their eyes....
The Mouse-Washing as its known will already have begun.

The long hours are truely hard, the pay is excruitiatingly paltry and many things could be done a lot better.

Complaints are numerous from the CP`s, again I have sat and talked with them and know this to be true, however despite this just about everyone that does in fact remain will come home with an experiance to remember, many will return for subsequant "lock-ups at Mousecatraz", some may even end up working full time for Disney, but overall a greater understanding of this machine that is Disney will be had.

Many of your childs "CP" friends will be friends for life.

Oh, and just like my daughter, I expect that 90% of the wages earnt will be given back with glee to Disney in the form of Merchandise, so, pack your bags, then take half out, because you WILL find its re filled with so many "Must Haves" upon their return.
This is unlikley to be a working holiday that many students will come back from with money for their next year at university!

This book has been long in coming and I wish Wesley Jones the very best and do hope that he writes another taking the story further!

As he wrote himself ...."CP`s Rule"!

--The following Review is from Amazon.com-- I just finished it yesterday and thought that it was really good. This book is perfect for anyone thinking about entering the Disney College Program. It tells you what to expect out of it, from day one to finally returning home, and what you will be doing most of the time. It also contains many stories from people who have already gone through the program. It is also a good book for anyone who is interested in Disney culture. I enjoyed it.
Huge Disney Fan [ No Rating ] 14 Jul 2006
I found this book to be really entertaining! Being a huge Disney fan it was fun to learn more inside perspectives as to what really goes on behind the scenes and what it means to "work for the mouse."

The author made me laugh out loud. At several points I was even able to see myself as one of the college program students--- oh how I wish!

I think this book is a fun, entertaining, easy read. I would recommend it.
