Description:The Keepers of Lingusia is a dark sword & sorcery world that has been in service now for 28 years. It's good old-school adventuring, a campaign setting which started in 1980 with AD&D and other systems and is still being used by people today. This is a compilation of all the primary text documents and maps needed to play, mechanically compatible with Castles & Crusades, and easily used with Labyrinth Lord or OSRIC (or even T&T, if you use it with the Troll's Companion as well). This edition includes the main rules, background, gazetteer, bestiary, new races, a vast and detailed pantheon of gods, scenario seeds, optional rules, new classes, an extensive gazetteer, the City of Octzel, and bunch of hand rendered maps. Additional maps and more content can also be found at the home site: http://www.angelfire.com/rpg2/ancientworlds. KOL has been my oldest "baby" now for a long time, and I thought some people might enjoy the option to get a nice bound copy through lulu. so here it is! Keywords:Listed in: |

Unfortunately Keepers of Lingusia may be a little too crammed full.Sparse internal artwork, and large blocks of text makes Keepers difficult to read. With out any flavour text, or representative art tyo look at I felt less like I was reading an RPG setting, and more like I was reading an encyclopedic text. To make matters worse the text lacks page numbers, which makes browsing difficult and the few references to other sections very difficult to find.
If you are interested in world building and can handle navigating through walls of text Keepers of Lingusia is well worth it's small cost, if not I can't suggest it.
I do hope that the author will polish up the formatting in the future. There is a lot of promise in this product, but as is it is a very difficult to get excited about.
I should also note that Keepers of Lingusia is written with AD&D in mind, not BX. I bought this hoping to use it for Labyrinth Lord, and much of the game material will not translate well.
