I just want to start by saying WOW... I am surprised that I actually liked this book so much, especially since I've never heard of this author before. (must be his or her first book because I can't find any others) I was just looking for a new summer read and I ended up stumbling upon a hidden gem! I don't want to spoil anything for anybody, so I'll just say that this book has a very unique approach to a certain touchy subject. I like the 'Aislinn' character the most... she's strange but interesting. It took me about 2 hours total to read, so I see where 'novella' comes from, but it definitely doesn't cut any corners in the story it tells. It's perfect the way it is, really. I can't wait to see what Mr. Vincench comes up with next! I definitely recommend this one.
Boardwalk the novella [ No Rating ] 23 Jul 2006
After reading this book, the first word that came to my mind to describe it is "unique." By unique, what I mean is that the style that the writer uses sets him apart from any other author whose work I have read. He takes what could be an ordinary story line and adds a depth of interesting symbolism and meaning. This story is great because it is a short read; yet I didn't feel "jipped" in any way. On the other hand, for those readers who like to dig deep into a long novel, this story provides underlying meaning to those willing to take the time to notice it and figure it out. I thought it was an excellent story, and I would definitley read another book by this author.
