I also have been with Stuart, from nearly the very beginning, reading through chapters of this book. From first draft to final copy, there have been chapters I couldn't remember and have still excited me and kept me reading on; just what any good book should do.
Just a brief overview of the book in case your thinking of buying it. This should sway your opinion xD
Review
Plot
The plot is one of a twisting story for survival with betrayal and revenge, as you follow Xander Con, through war-torn Britain against his fight with the Lords who currently reign. The plot features a variety of locations in and around Britain, mostly where action scenes take place, but maybe a little of something else as well; I'll let you find out.
Characters
The characters have a special feel with them, the way the author builds up the readers feelings of them into either like or dislike is a great way to feel involved in the storyline. They all has a sense of awe around them, making you class them as good or evil, and many times during this plot you will be wrong. The characters are well written that you do not find out their true colours until near the end of the book [no skipping now =)], but its well worth the wait.
Summary
When I first picked up this book, I thought it was going to be a "28 days later" film rip off, which I hated. It wasn't this marvel of pages is everything a book should be to get the reader crying out for more as he turns over the last page and see's and blank one beyond. The epic cliffhanger in the penultimate chapter finish off the readers satisfaction and lets them ponder about what is to come.
Rating
As I am a friend of the author and have read since the beginning you may think I pose a bias rating, hence why I am not going to rate it.
But I am going to leave the rating to you, all I say is buy it and then you'll see the true passion and grasping storyline as I have done.
