Description:

A new U.S. President with vision has given NASA and the Canadian Space Agency a near-impossible challenge: Send a manned mission to the Red Planet within four years, when Mars and Earth make their closest approach in a decade. More than 25 high-res images illustrate this amazing book about a risky mission to Mars. Conflict between the characters drives the story as Mission Commander Michael Walker, MEV pilot Anna Johnson, and Specialist Dale McKendrick roll the dice in a gamble unprecedented in space exploration. Main character 'Anna Johnson' was partially based on real-life Canadian Chief Astronaut Julie Payette, who received a copy in hardback. This book is available in the library of the John H Chapman Space Centre in Quebec. Now you can own it here.

'The 13th Day of Christmas' [ No Rating ] 10 Jan 2009
Was lucky enough to get an excerpt...made the "mistake" of using it for a bedtime story for my son. I enjoyed it so much that I can't risk his disappointment by attempting to finish it myself.
