The Power of the Prototype is a survey of objects made by engineers, artists, museum designers, and furniture makers. This unique book about the power of iteration, covers 18 case studies from designers, artists, and engineers. These objects show how humbly complex ideas begin, and how makers of all backgrounds use prototyping to create.

The Power of the Prototype was created in conjunction with an exhibit by the same name at the MakerFaire in 2008. The exhibit and book were reviewed at Dinosaurs + Robots.
