My road to parenthood was a rocky one, to say the least. We had a significant amount of money saved up for baby, but a complicated pregnancy quickly depleted our funds. After bi-weekly ultrasounds and doctor visits, pricey insulin shots, and an emergency c-section we were tapped! When it was all said and done, we had paid over $30,000 dollars in medical bills.

So I was in quite a pickle. I was so excited to be pregnant, and as a first time mom, I had no idea what to buy and what not to. Everything seemed like it was important. The diaper pail with the little inserts, the nursing pillows, the educational toys….the list was endless. No matter how hard I tried, the total was still around $2,000.

My sweet little boy made his way into the world on March 6th- and I can’t begin to tell you what a blessing that he is. I can tell that you don’t need a ton of baby junk to enjoy baby giggles or those sweet smiles that he gives so freely.

Thus, this book was created. I do all the homework for you. I have talked to hundreds of been-there-done-that moms. I have the ultimate list of what new moms really use, and what ends up in the garage sale pile.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed creating it!

This book is worth it's weight in gold! It was such an easy read, the author was really funny, and there were so many things mentioned that I never even thought of. The amount of money that I will save on clothing alone is worth the cost of this book. I have read some of the other bargain baby books out there, and this one was really fun to read. A+
I bought this for my daughter and what a help it has been. [ No Rating ] 9 Sep 2006

I love this book! When I first read it, I thought Kim was living in my vents taking notes of my pregnancy! It is so true. I wish I'd had this when I was pregnant. This is truly a Godsend for First-time mommies and I highly recommend it to all.

I'm a first time mommy to a baby girl named Dakota. I went nuts when I was pregnant buying all the stuff I thought I absolutely had to have. I bought so many clothes that she never wore...and of course I couldn't return any of them. I pretty much bought and did everything that you say NOT to do in this book. I don't even want to calculate how much money I basically threw away. This book is a must-have for expectant parents and I wish I had read it when I was pregnant! You have done an awesome job!
What a Great Book!
