The title poem was given to her on Valentine's Day of 2001. The other poems explore love's many forms, including the passions of youth, parental love, casual love, love as lust, love as friendship, love as remembrance, and love lost. It is dedicated to Barbara because she taught me, over the 41 years of our marriage, the true meaning of love. It is also dedicated to all who have experienced love in any way, for the giving of love is surely the greatest compliment that can be paid to any human being.
