i find myself still thumbing through the pages of the 1st issue of RAZAR. its a great read.the stories are top shelf, the art is great and i love the non fiction sections.its one of the thickest magazines out there which offers alot of reading and some great art. i love the interviews too!
I received my copy of Razar the other day and I was certainly not disappointed. The layout is slick, the illustrations sumptuous, and the stories are guaranteed to keep the readers on the edge of their seats.
The whole thing is beautifully put together. Stories begin with the enigmatic and grisly "The Owl of Darkwood" by Chris Bartholomew, then progress to Mo Irvine's "Loom" (modern-day witches hang out in the oddest places). John Irvine's deliciously weird "My Freezer and I" is one you just have to read (you won't believe it!) and Paul Campbell's beautifully illustrated "Black Sheep" is not for the faint-hearted.
The illustrations (many of them full-page, definitely framable works of art) range from classic comic-horror style through immaculately accurate and realistic drawings, to superb B & W photography. All creepy, and all very collectable.
I thoroughly recommend this collection for all horror fans, and, come to that, for anyone who appreciates good writing and artwork. A must have.

Yes, I'm a contributor to this inaugural issue of Razar, but I do have something to say.
There has been a climate of gloom and despair of late in the horror/sci fi publishing arena. A plethora of magazines, some supposedly well-established, have gone to the wall in the last six months. Some without honouring contracts.
I admit to some skepticism when first approached to submit to this first issue, but I did anyway. I think 12 of my stories were finally accepted, and all have been wonderfully illustrated and presented...
Folks, I can say that this magazine has exceeded even my own wildest and often misplaced optimism. Platitudes seem dull here in the light of what Paul Campbell has done: he's taken a huge amount of diverse stories and had his talented illustrators bring them to life. Including his own marvellous artwork.
What else can I say? The quality of this first issue bodes well for longevity.. something the horror genre needs badly right now.
On a scale of ten, Paul, I give you eleven.......
Cheers, John Irvine

RAZAR is a fantastic magazine, full of great stories and illustrations. I am very proud to be in issue one, and I am excited for all who are in this one and all who will be in future issues.
You can tell that the illustrations are made to order, perfect with the stories; this is something everyone involved should be proud of, something the reading public will love.
It is my hope that this magazine will find itself well read, and in the hands of the reading public all over the world.

RAZAR magazine is unique. It is a book in an easy to read magazine format. What a clever idea. This hefty collection of well written speculative fiction tales and non-fiction, features a nicely designed attractive layout. The full color covers by artist Laura Givens are a treat. Intermingled throughout and complimenting the featured authors’ exciting literary flights of fancy, terror, thrills, and adventure, the high quality illustrations, in a variety of compelling artistic styles, provide eye-candy and relevance, and are just plain spectacular. Publisher-editor Paul Campbell calls on his extensive publishing experience, and gathers together a stellar staff of experienced professionals, including illustrators, photographers, editors and more, to produce, polish, and present a glorious showcase magazine filled with hours and hours of entertainment.
This may be a new publication, but it does not read like one – it is top quality now, and I expect the next issue will be even better. I am hooked - I want more. I am eagerly awaiting RAZAR Issue 2.

RAZAR's first issue reads like a combonation of an anthology and magazine. Each other has multiple stories in it, which are each lavishly illustrated. The nonfiction comes in the form of articles and interviews. All of which are insightful.
The stories are diverse in theme/style and entertaining. No matter what your preference is there is something here for any Horror, and Sci-Fi fan.
The lay out of the magazine makes for easy reading, no overly fancy fonts or crazy font sizes. The presentation of material is done in an intelligent and easy accesable way.
Defintely worth checking out either in print or as a download.

I will admit at the outset here, that I am prejudiced - three of my photos, four if you include my ad, appear in RAZAR #1; several artists I count as friends also have work in this issue.
That out of the way, if you have only glanced at the preview, you have only a sample of how stunning this issue is. Bold, ambitious; a few copy edits notwithstanding, this is one of the most impressive premier issues of any magazine you are bound to see.
The concept is really unique - authors and artists both are featured in a lavish showcase that gives the reader a gallery experience of their work, instead of just a tidbit. If you buy issue #1, you will definitely be back for #2

WOW! As soon as I opened my box from LULU I knew I was in for a special treat! The first thing that grabs you is it's size! This is no flimsy magazine here folks! Then you open it, and it is such a magnificent treat for the eyes. It is choc-a-block with some of the finest and creative illustrations that you will find anywhere. When I began to read the stories...I was blown away again.RAZAR is the business! Edition one is destined to be a collectors piece...Don't miss out!
The first thing I noticed was the quality of it, wonderful color and a pleasure to hold. This isn't some flimsy piece of a magazine, it's a book!
Inside I really liked the art work and the stories, a wonderful mixture of sci fi horror and fantasy. The artists and photographers have done great jobs too, matching the work with the stories. I am very impressed!
