Description:

I just don’t like it. I have tried. The Church has an important message to proclaim in regard to what we call Stewardship, but it usually doesn’t work for me. As a long-time Rector, I tried to stay on top of the thinking on this subject; going to every conference I could find and reading every book, but something seemed contrived and self-serving about it all. In the end, I had to work it out for myself. So, here is what I have to say. It starts with foundational principles and moves to very concrete recommendations for long-term stewardship planning and action in congregations. This book can be of use to an individual struggling with me with issues of Stewardship and leadership for a congregation, or it might be useful in a group, studying how best to engage these issues. For me, this subject is intensely personal and incredibly important. Know also that I have absolutely no political ambition, so tend to be outrageous when I need to be. Be prepared, and turn the page.
