Description:

This is a book about a family of Ospreys in North Carolina that the author observed and intensively studied during the spring and summer of 2007. In Part I, the author provides background information on Ospreys regarding their biology, behavior, and conservation status. Part II then details the story of Wimpy and Bruno, two Osprey chicks who successfully fledged despite the early collapse of their nest. The narrative describes how these siblings learned to survive in the wide world beyond the nest --- from learning how to fly to learning how to hunt. Aided by over 100 full-color photos, the author extensively documents the "childhood" and "teenage months" of these fascinating raptors.
