A wonderful book of poems that are rich in expressing the emotions of life.....the positive and the negative. Enjoyed reading this and find myself picking it up again and again.
This is a book of poetry that will touch your heart. Every individual has experienced one or more of the emotions in this "from the heart" poems. It is the experience of heartbreak & renewal, sadness & joy and finding one's self. It will keep you going back to read just one more time, again & again.
Suzi Diodati's work brought me to tears several times with her poems about her mother and her father. She brought me to tears with her poems about love. She brought me to to tears with her poem about her neighbor, Frank. But she also made me laugh, chuckle, chortle, and thoroughly enjoy her perceptions of the commonplace.
Suzi has a wonderful gift of recognizing and appreciating what life is all about, and anyone would be remiss by not reading her charming book of poetry. I enjoyed it immensely.
A beautiful collection of poetry...some funny, some poignant...and all very eloquent. I thought I'd start out with one poem and ended up reading half of the book in one sitting. Highly recommended!
Since Susan opens herself and her world to the reader, I was able to enter into a world both familiar and new. This explanded my sense of Susan as an individual and my sense of the world as she experiences it. Susan's clear delight in crafting language to express her inner and outer engagement is at times playful and at other moments touchingly heartfelt. Her willingness to examine the more difficult aspects of life is a gift well worth exploring.
I read this delightful prose in 2 sittings...I almost couldn't put it down once I started. I consider Susan a friend and this courageous insight to her soul and inner feelings was amazing to me. I felt like I needed to "walk" gently and with respect through the anecdotal prose. I am certain few people have the unabashed personal fortitude nor the skill to so poignantly describe such deep feelings. I laughed a little…cried a little…and had to catch my breath when I finished reading the last page. WOW!!!! (I would like to hear a description of what “The Italian Way” really is…)
