The book has characters of adventure villainy and a treasure map leading to a magical painting containing "unlimited wealth". Quin said he read books like "Treasure Island" and "Moby Dick" and tried to pattern his writing styles from them. Book review by Joanne Collicott McGuigan "I found this book a good read. The author has a good command of the English language and I found his descriptions delightful. This book has all the ingredients of a good adventure book with the small town setting, the passive aggressive father, cowboys, Indians and the mystical master."
