Printed: 252 pages, 6" x 9", perfect binding, black and white interior ink Description:Alan has been at war with his father Billy all his adult life. Alan loves truth and Billy is a devoted liar. They live apart, connected only by Alan's son Luke and the memory of past battles. But now a new betrayal is in the air. The old stalemate relies on Alan and Billy keeping their wits and their grievances keen. As Alan buckles under the pressures of a desolate work life, and as Billy staggers into old age, Luke is sharpening his own private set of knives. Eyecatcher is a story of family and a story of ideas. Though often dark, the novel has a comic edge as these three men struggle to take themselves just seriously enough to survive. The insight that Ed displays allows a depth of understanding of the subjects that is rarely seen - a fantastic observation of the human condition from this English author.
As far as I can ascertain this is one of his first publications - surely one to watch in the future.
Highly recommended
