Fallen Heroes was a GREAT book! By about page 5 it kicked into high gear, kicked butt, and never let up. The characters were all so well-formed and interesting that, after the planned trilogy, the author could make whole books concentrating on individual characters in the world he has created here.

If you like great action and adventure with a dash of the supernatural thrown in, this is the book for you.

I loved this book from beginning to end and struggled to put it down. I’ve not read a novel for a good few years and this has made me realise what I have been missing.

Nugent balances a complex number of characters, situations and plot twists excellently and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

There was just the right balance of description vs. action. Nugent is not the kind of author to spend too long setting a scene with unnecessary exposition, rather describing it so vividly as to land the reader in the heart of the scene.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I felt I got to know the various characters cared about what happened to them.

One of my favourite scenes it towards the end of the book. It is written in a unusual style which very cleverly puts the reader right in the middle of what would otherwise have been a complicated idea to convey.

Well formed characters and an exciting story line, what more could you want! Well, actually there is more to want, and that's the next book. Please don't make us wait too long for it.

Fallen Heroes tells a strong story of crime, mystery and fantasy in a modern day setting that grips you from the opening chapter. The dialogue is snappy and realistic, giving the characters strong voices and distinct personalities. In short, this is a great book, everyone should give it a read. they won't be able to put it down

mister nugent is well-known and well-regarded personage who currently enjoys a fully fledged cult celebrity status, so when i bought his book i was prepared to like it regardless of its true merit...
it turns out any previous inclinations towards its enjoyment were superfluous and wholly unnecessary...
this is simply a good book, it is a finely woven high adventure story that balances and synthesizes multiple plot threads and characters to great effect...
i very much recommend that you give it a read...
i also look forward with acute enthusiasm to nugent's next effort...
Read this. End of.

A solid introduction to a new supernatural urban fantasy action series. There's a little bit of something for everyone in this book, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the next volume.
