Description:Biographies of the one-hundred-fifty-six men of Belleville, N.J., who died while in service to their country. World War II, by far, took the largest toll of 117 young men. World War I took 20 young lives. The Korean War took four lives, and preserving the peace cost us three more Belleville Sons. Here, in one source, beyond the names of our fallen are their stories as best as can be preserved from old newspapers that crumble in our hands. Latest edition includes some photos of these young men plus a local soldier's Civil War diary, and another soldier's letters home from the South Pacific during World War II. Keywords:Listed in: |
